This is the moment an alert police officer saves an elderly man from being crushed by a train in northern India.
Dramatic footage shows the cop sprinting after a moving train as stunned passengers watch on.
The passenger appears motionless after being dragged along a platform by the train, but as he is moved away from danger by the official he eventually comes round and walks away – seemingly unharmed.
Onlookers said the man had slipped and was pulled across the platform by the moving yellow sleeper train in Rajasthan.
A man on the carriage in front can be seen looking back before the officer comes sprinting back into view.
CCTV recordings show the end of the incident, which took place at the Sawai Madhopur station, and saw the man almost fall under the carriage.
As he lays prone on the floor, the officer is seen dashing towards him to drag him to safety as the train continues to flash past.
The old man is eventually seen getting back to his feet and walking away from the scene.
It is unclear exactly how far the man was dragged and whether he was trying to board the train or get off.
There is a footboard on the carriage he is trying to enter or disembark from.
His leg was momentarily under the cart running on the rails.
