Scotland’s Stephen O’Donnell has teamed up with one of Lanarkshire’s favourite takeaways for the launch of its new Euro 2020 menu.
The Motherwell right back tucked into a delicious football pitch pizza made by the team at Mr Chef Hamilton while trying out their range of new dishes.
The curry house also showed off its Irn Bru kebab along with other Scotland-themed treats in an attempt to rally the town’s support for the national team when the finals kick off next month.
O’Donnell joked that Mr Chef’s patriotic product “couldn’t be any more Scottish” before catching up with Lanarkshire Live to tell us his favourite dish.
He said: “It all looks brilliant, it’s always good when a local business supports us and supports the Euros.

“It’s been a long time [since Scotland made the finals] so hopefully not only will it bring the Scottish national team success, but hopefully also our local businesses and companies too.
“I’m really excited for the Euros. I can’t believe I’m getting the opportunity to be available for the squad and hopefully selected as well.”
With little over a month before Scotland play in its first summer tournament in more than 20 years, O’Donnell hopes to be part of the squad.
He added: “It would be great if I got to go, but If I don’t I’d imagine I could end up getting a wee trip across the road to Hamilton for a Mr Chef special, but hopefully it’ll be the Euros.
“The Belter Bru and the Bubblegum Sundae was lovely, then the kebab was bold.
“I’d recommend the football pitch pizza the most from what I’ve tried.”
Mr Chef opened its Hamilton takeaway earlier this year after the continued success of its Uddingston headquarters.
Owner Wasim Arshad said: “We decided with the Euros coming up, and it being the first time we’ve made it there in our lifetime, we wanted to do something a bit unique to cheer the team on, so we brought out some new products.
“We’ve got some great desserts with our famous Belter Bru sundae and the Belter Bru milkshake.
“We’ve decided to make a football pitch pizza as well as an Irn Bru infused kebab which I designed myself, and you really need to try that to believe it. It’s a taste sensation you’ll never beat.
“It’s been a tough time locally the past year, so hopefully this can cheer people up and is something different we can all enjoy.
“It’s exciting to get Stephen O’Donnell from the Scotland team in to try the products.”
